Role: Senior Client Accountant - Property & Asset Management (commercial property)
Location: Central London
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 (subject to experience), plus bonus and benefits
We are recruiting for a Lead Client Accountant to join an established Property & Asset Management team in Central London.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual that has a strong ambition to forge / progress a career within an established property services firm (commercial property). We are looking for a driven individual with a desire to provide an exemplary client accounting service to the the firm's many clients, and work closely with the Head of Property Management Accounts.
Required skills:
- Ideally AAT Qualified, Part Qualified ACCA, minimum 10 years’ experience in Property Accounting.
- Ideally strong background in commercial service charge accounting and Vat treatment for different funds held.
- Strong understanding of commercial property leases and lease obligations.
- Must have minimum of 5+years of QUBE MRI experience, ideally have an in-depth knowledge of the systems’ functionality.
- Skilled in data management and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication and time management.
- Excellent IT skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, QUBE MRI).
Responcibilities:
- Oversee the Common Receipts daily banking function, bank transfers and daily reconciliation.
- Produce monthly and quarterly client reporting packs, maintain trackers, including analysis of budget vs expenditure, dealing with cash flow issues.
- Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts.
- Quarterly production of Cash Reconciliations.
- Preparation of VAT reports and Service Charge fund Vat reimbursements to/from clients.
- Preparing rent pay over reports and transfer funds to clients.
- Coordinate transitions and setup – manage handovers from external agents and ensure accurate setup.
- Manage and complete all aspects of service charge accounting ensuring compliance with RICS guidelines, including quarterly reviews, annual budget implementation, year-end reviews, including tenant apportionments, balancing charges and audit preparation.
- Monitor and analyse rent arrears and tenant account movements, working with the Property Asset Managers to clear accounts.
- Regularly evaluate team performance, providing feedback and development guidance to the team in conjunction with the department Head, to ensure excellence in client service delivery
